I am so excited to have countertops with a sink and faucet that gives water!  They're beautiful and bring us one step closer to functioning in this house!

We had our first bowling activity with our youth group this past Saturday.  It was a good time.  The kids are really great, and of course our kids love being with them and love bowling!  I didn't get the best pictures, but here's a couple.  Ava pretty much just pushed her ball and turned around and jumped up and down.  I think she thought that's all there was to it.

Unexpected Fun!

While heading to the cities to get a few housey things, we saw Sarah Palin at the Mall of America!  We also met up with Grandpa and Grandma and ran into Brent and Heidi.  Fun unexpected night!

Bathroom and kids room

Well they are painted and we have a few things on the wall.  So that's a good feeling!  Just ignore the toys.  I love the blue color.  It's hard to know sometimes if it's the right shade, and it is!

So while we have had a break in actual renovations, I have been using my time to plan my decorating and rearrange rooms.  Here's what they look like today.  It could change tomorrow, but this is the first time I feel really good about the living room and the use of space.  Hopefully tomorrow we will get the living room, hall, and kids room painted.

The Armor of God

Jack has memorized Ephesians 6:11-17, the armor of God.  So yesterday while he was saying it for me, I had him actually put it on.  He's ready for that Devil!

Kool-aid smiles

The kids had true kool-aid smiles from our lunch yesterday.  Here they are trying to show them off...without smiling.

The bathroom is painted with the mirror and cabinet hung.

I spent all day long yesterday doing what I do and although there's still tons of things to do that I have no control over, at least most things have a place.

Happy 11-12-13!

I just love that!  Here's what is going on today.

Ava says a "y" sound for her "l"s.  On the way home from church lately, she's been commenting on every light we pass.  So this is how it sounds in the car.

"Yight...yight...yight..."  And on and on.

In other news, the bunk beds came today!  Very exciting!  The kids are so excited about this new playhouse/fort we got them!  I'm excited because they're cute as bunk beds go and just because each new development means we are thismuchcloser to being settled.  Matt said to just set small goals or you will get frustrated.  He's so wise and knows me so well.  There have been times we have been able to move in and get set up in a day.  Well this house is not that way, so I'm learning patience.  Well I don't know if I'm learning it, but I am trying to learn it!
Sometimes it seems like I just walk from room to room picking things up and setting them down and not really accomplishing anything.  But I know it will get done and that I will love what we've been able to do.

More Progress

Wow!  Three walls came out yesterday!  It's a little dusty, but I love it better already!  Jack even got in on the action with helping to take out the bathroom tile and pull down the wallpaper border.  Then he helped Matt carry load after load of wood and wall pieces.  So a lot got done yesterday thanks to two very fun men in our church who worked so hard to help us.  Thanks, Marvin and Aldo!  And Karen brought some lunch which made it even better!
