Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had a great time with family and nice to have Nancy home! We got lots - too many - of wonderful things! I am feeling better the last couple of days -knock on wood - so am hoping to be getting more back to normal. Now a month full of birthdays! Nancy, me, Jack, my niece Chelsie - and that's just family. We have a ton of church people born this month, it seems! So a month of birthday parties, then a vacation to Florida, and then I should be able to have an ultrasound. And then just waiting for July to come around. Maybe it will go quicker then!

I LOVE Jesus!

Matt said, "Jack, the next section we will be reading in our devotions is about Jesus being born." Jack said, "Oh, I LOVE Jesus!" It warms our hearts. And he is so into birthdays for everyone that it is exciting that Jesus is having one.

Big Bro!

Yes, Jack is going to be a big brother sometime next July. We are excited about it, and he is positive it is a baby girl. I just thought it was funny that he had an opinion about it, but he is adamant that it is not a boy; it's a girl.

Now we're just looking forward to Christmas! I'm feeling pretty good so far, so here's hoping that continues. I am enjoying the fact that I get to stay home this time in my pregnancy and that Matt is home on the weekdays now. Even though the weekends are tough with his schedule, he is staying strong; and hopefully in January, one of the weekend shifts will change to a weekday.

So time is moving on and hopefully will go quickly this pregnancy! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Looking so forward to next week! Thanksgiving is my favorite family time of the year. Lots of traditions and good food! Can't wait. Jack has figured out Christmas. Whenever he sees decorations, he says, "Look! Christmas!" He loves snowmen and Jingle Bells. It's so fun. There should always be kids in our Christmases. He is practicing his songs for the program this year and knows them so well that he mostly sings them in a silly voice now. I hope it goes okay! It amazes me how much they can take in at this age. He has 5-6 songs some of which have several verses. It's scary knowing that he can remember so much! It makes me wonder how many things I'm doing wrong that he is filing away in his memory. And Christmas music is on the radio - it's finally becoming a reality that the season is here. So anyway, hope to post more at some other point soon. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Halloween

Mommy as Mommy, Jack as Woody, and Bailey as Peter Pan

Lexi as Alice, Levi as Woody, and Jack as Woody

Cookies at Kowalski's - He racked up there!

Jack-isms

Jack was Woody for Halloween (pictures to follow), so we bought him a little holster with a gun and a badge from the dollar store. He saw it and said, "I got a pute!" very excitedly. I thought what in the world does that mean? I think that a lot. Anyway, I said, "What?" He said, "You know, PEW PEW!" (gun sound) It's so funny the things they come up with on their own.

Last night eating corn on the cob at my parents, he had corn stuck in his teeth and said, "Can you cut off my teeth?" And he wanted "hangers" in order to hold onto the corn. And then he said, "Is this a bat?" He asks that about anything semi-resembling a bat since he loves them including my fake squash in my fall decorations. I have two, so he said, "Two bats!" He once took a breadstick and a tater tot and played baseball and/or golf at the restaurant.

Bailey had an accident: "Uh oh, he spilled."

Obviously I don't put the not so cute or funny quotes on here. He has a lot of those, too! He does think he has the best ideas of anybody anywhere at anytime and doesn't understand (appreciate) a different opinion most of the time. So that's the hard part of training, I guess. But it can be very rewarding if you just stay with it, right?

October

Just got back from a ladies retreat which was nice, but nicer to be back! I like my life and my home and my boys! I'd rather be with them than doing anything else. So now this week we have an apple orchard activity with church and just day to day busyness. The holidays are coming! Christmas shopping has semi-started. Matt is working almost every night overnight and so is sleeping through the days. We are concerned about his job situation, but so far he does still have one, so that's a blessing!

Jack is getting close to being 3, so we are past a lot of the 2 year old stuff....we hope anyway! Very fun! I wish I could remember everything he says. One tip: When you pick your child up from the nursery and he says, "I obey", it makes you wonder what went down during the last hour! He is now able to go to Awana's pre-cubbies which is called Puggles. And now also is in junior church practicing for a Christmas program. He's a little young, but most of the kids in our church are around his age, so nice they can do this all together.

So I'm headed back to Weight Watchers! I have missed going the last few weeks, but it just hasn't been feasible with the schedules. I had a big break from the wedding until now, so now back to the old grind!

I am glad to see some colors working their way through the greenness. With the cold snap, I wasn't sure we would get any. But there are some popping out here and there. So that's encouraging. I was hoping for more 60s than we've had, but that isn't looking like it will happen now. Oh well, bring on the holidays and winter, too, I guess!

I feel like this is a boring post, but I haven't posted in so long that I thought I should. Every time I think about quitting the blog, I find a random person who says they check it all of the time. So here's for all of you! HA

Singing

I just had to include this video of Jack singing. We have our devotions every night and we have a time of singing. There are a number of songs that Jack likes to sing. This is one of his favorites. It is the Christian ABC song.

Here are the words if you don't know them already:
A, B, C, D, E, F, G: All have sinned and that means me.
H, I, J, K, L, M, N: Jesus died for sinful men.
AMEN!
O, P, Q, R, S, T, U: I believe God's Word is true.
U, V, W: God has promised you.
X, Y, Z: A home eternally!

AAHHHH!

Finally, maybe some time to relax. I am purposely not planning anything or at least much this week. I need to just relax and be home. It feels good already! Today Jack and I had Mommy and Jack Day - I enjoyed it even if he didn't know it was that much different. Matt was golfing, and no other kids around today, so we did the park and McDonalds and a garage sale - he got a free little something or other toy - but very nice and relaxing. And then we took naps. Perfect!

Dome Days

We won't be having many of these next year with the Twins moving. That might have been the last Dome Dog I ate for a while - YUM! And there is Favre although blurry. He didn't actually play since it was the last preseason game, but still fun to see him out there. Our good friends Josh and Libby gave us some tickets. Thanks, Guys!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Just staying busy with church, Matt's job's crazy hours, and now this week the fair one more time and then the Vikings game on Friday! I'm very excited and Matt is glad that I can be a Vikings fan now that Brett Favre is here! HA I was threatening to become a Packers fan a couple of years ago.

And then it's off to Kansas for a conference that my brother is preaching for the weekend. Then a Twins game next week and maybe things will settle down not long after that! But things are good. Jack is saying so many things like right now, "We ha' to go outside together." So I guess I will stop and do that.

Friday, August 21, 2009

After a very busy week, we are looking forward to a date night! We are having a garage sale with some friends this week, so I have been going up there every day. Mom and Bek are starting school, the men are golfing, the softball tournament has come and gone, and the fair is starting next week! FUN! Can't wait. Also looking forward to a trip to Kansas with my sisters possibly, so then maybe everything will settle down. But until then, I guess I will eat, drink, and be merry!

Fun Saturday

McDonalds had customer appreciation day on Saturday, so we had cake, saw Ronald McDonald Duck as Jack calls him, and rode ponies. Kind of fun.

Jack loves the mower, but doesn't love the loud noises, so these headphones work perfectly.

I wish summer would never end....I love all of this stuff!

MN ZOO
We got zoo memberships so we can go every so often. So Tuesday was our first venture with some friends. We had a blast and can't wait to go again!

Jack has the same opinion as his dad of the barnyard smell.

Prairie Dog

A huge swing that they can play in, too.

Anoka County Fair with MeMa and Bpa

I think we have watched Woody so much that we are now entering the cowboy phase. Guess we should get him a hat that fits.

Other July happenings...

Hasn't July been beautiful? I have loved it so much better than June this year! So we got a fun little pool and are having a ball!

Trip to the ER for falling and slicing his ear open. He was very excited about the popsicle for being good!

At the fireworks- the earphones worked wonders!
