Industrial Farmhouse

A fun Craig's List find! An "industrial farmhouse light fixture" was how it was described.  I have loved these for a long time and got a good deal on this one and now I have a direction for my design on this farmhouse.  Industrial.  I will still try for cozy too though!

Last Waterpark Day 2016

We have hit a sad word..."last". We have had the most fun, relaxing, eventful summer!  And this year at the Waterpark, Jack learned to dive and Ava learned to go on the lily pads by herself and also to do it standing up with the ropes. She did it over and over, of course!
I love that she really works at things she wants to accomplish.  Jack is getting to be a good swimmer and practiced different kinds of swims he saw on the Olympics this year.  So it was a great summer, and now comes school!!

Reunion

Somebody was glad to see Somebody when we got back!  And we have welcomed two new family members to the farm.  Shelley and Shadow are our new (outside) cats who we hope will be good mousers.  Right now they're just pretty cute.

MN State Fair

A little preview for our real state fair visit next week!  We had a blast going for a few hours with my siblings, and the pronto pups were great!  Can't wait to go again! Ava got a unicorn named Rainbow (fitting) to carry around so that made her happy.  And we had a fun skyride and mostly walked around and ate food and tried to stay dry.  It was a little rainy but was still a great day!

Trip home

We had a trip home last week to help my parents after my dad's knee surgery, and Ava read a LOT of books!  She literally read all day on one of the days and said her throat and tummy hurt after that.  But I love that she loves to read and that she really practices.   We also had a first.  She cut her hair!  So we will be waiting a while for this to grow out but she's pretty cute still and she loves less tangles and she loves her bangs.  And probably no flowers for a while.  She was trying to get bangs like me.  She was pretty proud of it, but of course has since learned not to do that again!

Buddies

Ava got to play with her buddy Noah and his sister Ella last week when she came with me to work.  They had so much fun and are looking forward to being in first grade together!

Goofy Kids

The kids found something to do while we worked at church.

We always get face painting at the Martin  County Fair by our former neighbor.  It's a tradition!  So fair season is here!  We are looking forward to the State Fair as well coming up soon!

Church Project

In the middle of our move, we are also working on the church kitchen and fellowship hall area to make it more functional and prettier. Even the kids got in on it.

The Next Move

Then Rebekah came (oops, no pictures), and we had a lot of fun relaxing and doing some fun things with her along with packing.  Packing?  Yes, we are moving to a farmhouse in the area and selling our house.  There's not a bad view!

Grandparents Weekend Part 2

After our weekend with my parents, Matt's parents came the next weekend!  The boys golfed and the girls shopped and had a fun treat in the coffee shop.  Here is Ava and Grandma being silly and having fun.
