Sand Art

Thanks, Grandma Hanks, for the colored sand and bottles to make beautiful art!

More Projects

And flowers!  I guess I'm all about the outside this week.  We are getting ready for some company so that makes me even a little more motivated.  These are my favorite two projects in the first picture.
Here are the two chairs that sit in the front.  They are a bright blue and turned out really well.  So that was an easy update with high impact.
The outside bench was pretty rough looking and after 6 cans of spray paint, I'm not sure it's much better; but we are hanging onto it for now.  The kids can sit on it at least.  And the two small tables are what else?  Blue. I have almost a gallon left from when we did the school room.  So we will use it when we can.  The blue outside ottomans were rescued from down the street.  And that gives me a living room outside!

The door table was going to be all coral but I really like it with just the legs done, and I like the rough looking door with it so it will stay like that for now.
Another picture of the yellow door that I love
We were visiting a couple in our church and as they were showing me around, I saw this railroad sign lying on the ground.  I loved it, so she gave it to me!  Ha!
A round coffee table from during the junk days. Blue!  I think it turned out great!
Also in this picture are two suitcases I found stacked for an end table.
View of the backyard from my bedroom.

The door table - I love it.  I don't feel anything in the living room photographs very well because of the bad lighting but trust me, it looks great!
So these were most of my garage sale and junk day finds.  I still have a couple more things that could possibly turn into something amazing.  I will keep you posted!

Summer!

We have a few flowers coming up and a white lilac bush.  I didn't even know there were white lilacs.  And our rescued outdoor furniture is waiting for me to get my hands on it.  Can't wait!  It was fun sitting outside for a while today.  We had lunch and listened to the birds and smelled the flowers and swung on the swing.  Fun!  Looking forward to many more days like this.

Happy Memorial Day!

Projects

Matt painted the front door Iced Lemon and I love it!  I also used some of it to paint an old bookcase I got during the junk days and then used it in the garage where I now have a sort of mudroom.

Decorated one of the old doors but still haven't painted the door table.  That will be next!  Can't wait!

Happy birthday, dear Grandpa!

Trip V - The Minnesota Zoo

We met Matt at the zoo on Tuesday.  He had golfed the week before and then had gone home to preach and work so we could all have fun.  We were all pretty excited to see each other again!  We had a great time at the zoo and then drove home together.  It was a great trip and we got to do so many things.  What a great way to celebrate the end of school!  So happy to see the green grass and leaves and flowers on the trees!  When we got home, my tree was waiting!  So Matt (and Jack) planted it, and I love it.  And it smells so good and fresh!  It was a nice homecoming!
