Fair continued....

These are a couple of pictures I took with my phone and forgot about them. This is of Jack at the Little Farm Hands exhibit. He could care less about the farm stuff. He just wanted to ride the tractor.

Tribute to the State Fair

This tribute is dedicated to Jana and Jill who have threatened me against saying anything about the fair since it will throw them into great depression since they can't be here. But I can't resist. So here you go, girls!
Entrance
The big slide
Here you go, Jana! These two are for you! I'm so mean, aren't I? Sorry!
Matt and his footlong corn dog
A cone from the dairy building - YUM!
The bus ride home - why are we so hyper? Oh yeah, cookies!!!! That's usually the last thing we eat. Oh and because of the heat I wanted to make sure he had plenty to drink which led to not one, not two, but three times wetting on us. ON US! like with puddles! WOW - guess I overdid it on the drinks. So this bus ride was one of the times. It happened after this picture was taken or I may not have been smiling! It made for a long bus ride.
This is my favorite new thing they do now. I guess it started last year, but I just saw it this year. You can get your picture taken with a baby animal. Well, Jack freaked out a little when the baby duck scampered across his leg, but I thought that made it even funnier. I think we're gonna have to get this boy a dog. (Sigh for Buddy!) So here is his picture on a stick.
So I am an avid fair person. I like to go with a lot of different people. That way I get to see a lot more things than I would normally since I do not have a long attention span. I haven't been able to go with my dad though and am bummed that I won't get to hear him say, "Holy cow! Look at that cow!" HA He says that he did that for our benefit when we were younger; but he still does it, so I don't think he can blame it on us anymore. He really loves the animals, and now I do, too. Matt isn't as thrilled about them because of the smell, but he endures it for me. AHH LOVE!

Fure Family Reunion

Matt's uncle owns a resort - who knew? What fun we all had this past weekend staying in their cabin and boating and swimming! Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Fure for sharing their cabin with us!

Tribute to Donna

This week a wonderful lady in our church has gone to Heaven. Many things about her remind me of my mother who died of cancer when I was 7. Donna McKenzie was a wonderful mother and Christian servant. But I always think of that verse that says "The righteous perish and no man layeth it to heart none considering that the righteous are taken away from the evil to come." Some people are just too good to be in this world! Here are she and Jack during one of our times together. I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to know her even for a short time.

Jack and Dele`- Best Buddies!

I should have taken a picture when we went swimming. They looked like a Huggies commercial in their Little Swimmers! Thank the Lord for friends and that it can start this early!

Uh Oh!

Jack found my makeup. Since he watches me get ready every morning, he knew exactly where lipstick goes! And like all good parents, we know you take the picture first and then deal with him! His face was tinted Cinnamon for a while! I love that he got the teeth, too! EEWWW!

House for Sale! and other jottings...

Not much to report except that we are trying to sell our house. Our renters have moved; we had a garage sale to try to get rid of things, and we now are about set to have an open house this weekend. Other than that, we are busy with church; and I started babysitting again. It works out really well, and he's such a good little guy! So God is taking care of us, and we are looking forward to letting Him handle the house situation.

Looking forward to the Great Minnesota Get-Together, the Minnesota State Fair, which is a big excitement for us! I could do without the calories, but not the atmosphere! It always reminds me of being a kid and going with my family every year, and Dad making us stand forever at the all you can drink milk for 10 cents and really make us drink all that we could drink! I remember thinking "I don't want anymore", and him saying "KEEP DRINKING!" Having 4 kids at the fair made him economical, I guess. We went on Labor Day every year and went early and stayed late. Another economical part - get your money's worth, right? It is a nostalgic place for me. So two weeks from Friday, that's where we'll be; and maybe we will run into some of you!

I guess I had a little more to say than I thought. Since Jack gets most of the attention on this blog - what's that all about? - I thought I would throw my two cents in about other things going on with us. He will get more attention on here soon since we caught him in my makeup the other day! Matt's scared! But that's for another time. Hope you are all doing well. I have had a few people tell me that they would keep in touch with me better if I were on Facebook which I thought was funny. Maybe it would make me more interesting! HA - but we are just still old-fashioned and just blogging! It took us long enough to start this, so I don't think we'll be doing anything else for a while! But feel free to comment or email. We do check!
