Fairmont Baptist Church

Our new church's sign says that Matt is the new pastor.  We had a great first Sunday yesterday!  It will be a busy few weeks of commuting until we can actually move down there, but we had a great day of rejoicing together.  What a blessing!  We have been staying with the Cushmans who are very kind, giving people.  Ava calls them mama and papa, and they are already good church grandparents to our kids!  Daryl plays the guitar and sings and lets them "play" too.  So that is one of their favorite things to do when we are there.  We are glad they feel so comfortable there and at the church.  They know their way around better than we do!

Car Show

One of our last times to go to the Anoka classic car show.  Jack liked this car because it was just his size.

More graduation-related pictures

Here are a few others of Jack with his Bible and his new Lego set that he bought with his graduation money.  And one of him with Levi and Lexi at Dairy Queen after graduation.

Busy Weekend!

Well we had a very busy weekend over the last few days.  On Friday Jack graduated from kindergarten.  He did a great job and had the biggest part in the play that they put on.  I will try to get a video of it up on the blog.  Saturday was my parent's 50th anniversary so we had a surprise party for them at the Green Mill.  It was a great time with family and friends.  Then on Sunday we started our mission's conference at the church and then in the evening we had our farewell fellowship.  I don't think we've mentioned it on the blog yet, but I have accepted a position as the pastor of Fairmont Baptist Church in Fairmont, MN.  We are very excited about the ministry opportunity but obviously we are sad to leave Berean Baptist Church and sad to be moving away from friends and family.  On the bright side we will only be a little over 2 hours away so there will be visits up to the city and I'm sure there will be people visiting us in the lower part of Minnesota.  Here are some pictures from the happenings.

I tried to get a picture of him walking down the aisle, but I caught it right when the tassel flopped into his face.

Jack ended up with a lot of gifts!  One of his favorites is his new Bible with a case to carry it in.

Kindergarten Graduation Day

Today is graduation day and the last day of school.  I feel as I did the first day we dropped him off, just a little gray.  It was such a great year!  It's special that Matt gets to speak tonight, and I will be presenting Jack's teacher with a gift from the class and their families and reading a poem.  It's nice we both get to be involved.  There will be pictures later of the graduation and party.  I'm looking forward to a great day of celebrating together!  Here are a few pictures from Como Zoo and the dress rehearsal yesterday. They aren't the best, but you can tell a little of what's going on.  Jack is Little Boy Blue in the big straw hat.

Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is one of my favorite days.  It's like a birthday you share with all of your friends.  We usually celebrate mine on Saturday since we are with our moms on Sunday.  So I got to go garage saling (I don't think that's a word) in the morning, then we went downtown Anoka to all of the fun shops where I got my gift.  And then out to dinner at Outback one of my favorite restaurants.  We tried to go to the classic car show but it was cold; and they all left before we got there, but we got to meet up with Brent and Heidi and the dogs.  I loved the whole day!  Here's some pictures of us and one of my gift.  By the way, happy Mother's Day to our moms.  We love you both so much and are so grateful to have you in our lives.  It was great spending time with you all yesterday at a great Macaroni Grill dinner.  Thanks to Matt's dad for that!  Wow!  Yum!

This week the weather is looking better than last week.  Tonight is our first softball game of the year.  Woohoo!  So exciting!  Go Berean!

Ava's babblings

She sings, "baby bus waa waa waa" which is "the babies on the bus go waa waa waa."  And the next verse is "a bus go beep beep".

She says "my" for "I".  So "I'm awake" is actually "my 'wake".

Foot is "woot". F's are w's.

Socks are "hockey's".

Her name is A'a, and Jack is Dack.

Our new car is "mommy ride".

She is a lot of fun to shop with during the day!  I love this stage!  She likes to talk to everyone we meet.  Forgive me if I already posted some of these.  And stay tuned for more!

Amazing Grace Walk

It was cold the day of the Amazing Grace Walk this year!  And of course, it warmed right up the next day.  This is me with the director of Metro Women's Center, Colleen Tronson.  What an amazing person with a wonderful testimony.  Always so transparent and kind and a giver of Godly counsel.  I have loved working with her and the girls there.

Ava's ready for summer!

Field Day Fun!

We had a great time at Field Day!  I was so sentimental about it being the end of school.  I remember feeling that way when I used to go to school and when I taught too.  We had a beautiful day in the 70s!  Jack won a few ribbons for the high jump, running jump, a softball throw, a bean bag target toss and the obstacle course.  He did great and had a great time!  We will miss his class and teacher, Miss Scholze.  She's been such a wonderful teacher to him and a help to us.  It's been a great year of kindergarten!
