Smith's Greenhouse

We came home with a broccoli plant and a tomato plant, but the odds of us actually being able to enjoy anything that we grow just aren't good.  I'm so much more comfortable eating things other people have grown and nurtured.  But they're not dead yet, so we will see this through until either we have to throw them out or we can give them away.  Again I don't have high hopes for us getting anything actually edible from them.  But who knows?  At least we had a fun time digging in the dirt.

Full bloom!

And it smells great!  It's been fun to see everything green up and to see trees with the new green buds and some with flowers.  I love this time of year when it feels like you can finally get outside comfortably most every day!  Fairmont is waking up.  The birds are chirping.  All the time.  They're happy too.

Random

Game time for the youth kids.  My phone died, so I didn't get any of the kids playing, but it was fun and fierce!  They had a great time, and we are happy to have such a good group of kids.
I guess Ava was a bit cold.
Girl time
Another Metro Women's Center volunteer day.  We filled a couple of hundred bottles for the Amazing Grace Walk coming up soon.

Hot!! Yay!

I heard the first "I'm hot" complaint the other day.  So we started out painting the driveway with our bucket of water, and it digressed from there...

Crafty!

I am such a non-crafty person that I always feel the need to show off anything I do myself.  I did this!  It's embarrassing that something so simple feels like such an accomplishment, but I have other strengths, right?  RIGHT? Anyway, I always want to buy these "Mr & Mrs" banners when I see them in Anoka or at the little shops, but never want to spend $20 on them.  I bought the banner for $7 and had the stencils but have never used them.  I bought the little burlap flowers for $2 at the Target dollar spot.  So $9!  Not bad!!

Tree progress

I have had a request for updates on how the tree is doing, so here you go, Judy!  I'm starting to see pink!!!

Happy 40th, Aunt Bek!

It was fun trying to make 40 special!  We have had 4 milestone birthdays in a row in our family in the last few months.  Whew!  This is the last one for a while.  Always good to be together and to celebrate each other.  And 40 is fine when you look 29!

Green buds on our tree!

We didn't kill it yet!  So exciting!

And finally...Easter!

I am so thankful for a victorious God who conquered death on the cross and loved me enough to let me experience that in my life as well.  Praise the Lord!  He is Risen!  We had such a wonderful Easter Sunday at our church.  There was such a sweet spirit of worship.  We started out with a church breakfast which was so much fun to do.  I have never been a part of a church that did an Easter breakfast before.  Then we had some special music.  I always love hearing the men's group sing.  You can tell they all really love to sing which makes it so meaningful.  And then Matt preached a great sermon in spite of not feeling the best.  Then we had some friends over for lunch and grilled out and then did our egg hunt with the kids.  Jock even got a special Easter toy, so they all racked up!  Whew!  I was exhausted later but so worth it!  I loved it all!

Jock and Aaron = buddies!

Both Jock and Aaron are in cahoots with each other.  They share things to chew on, and I think Aaron feeds Jock.  We have our struggles with Jock still sometimes, but I love that all of the kids can play with him and pull on him and he doesn't mind.  Definite progress!

Kids stuff

Ok all of these are blurry pictures.  My phone camera does not always do the best these days.  But here are the kids singing for one of our sweet church ladies.
Kids 4 Truth awards.  The kids we have are such a joy.   What a fun little group.  So happy and excited to learn.  We have a great time with them on Wednesday nights, and everyone got their patch last week!
And I caught a great smile from Aaron

New shutters

My amazing husband just decided he was going to make me shutters and so he did!  He can pretty much do anything.  He studies, figures it out, prepares and always does a great job.  I'm always so happy with how everything he does turns out.  In this case, I wanted some rustic shutters.  And I love them!
