Ava turns 8!

Summer is flying by! We have had lots of water days and have just enjoyed being out after the long winter. Our VBS was probably the best one we've had with higher numbers, but more importantly, 4 souls coming to Christ.  We have some amazing kids in our church, and it's been a blast to see them grow!
And then, Ava turned 8 and so we have been busy celebrating her! She says she wanted to be 8 and stay little. I can relate! I would like to be where I am in life but still be 30! So we had a waterpark party with her friends and a sleepover and then our gift to her was a night at the Great Wolf Lodge with a family party to follow. Then!! (Still more!) The kids got to stay the weekend and spend some time with the family getting spoiled with outings -Ava got to paint a princess figure with Nancy - and a trip to Crystal Cave! They have been looking forward to that all summer.  My mom always took her class there and decided to take the kids there this year since she's retired.  I remember going in 2nd grade in her class.  So it was an amazing time, and we are so thankful for the love from all of our wonderful family.  And summer's not over! I hope lots more fun will happen before....you know, (fall).

Valleyfair

We had an amazing and exhausting day at Valleyfair yesterday! Matt was driving the bus for a local church group, and we were able to tag along.  The kids didn't remember it too much since it had been a few years since we've been there. So we loved it and had such a fun and special day.

Past Memorial Days

A night out

Bek and I went out to see Newsies at Chanhassen Dinner Theater last week and I got to be her first overnight guest in her new place. It was a good time together and needed. But as always, it feels good to drive down that long driveway and see the farm. Best view ever after a lot of driving!

Memorial Day

We were able to have a little getaway over Memorial Day weekend after church on Sunday into Monday.  We got a hotel, the kids swam, and then we met my family and my dad grilled! Nearly every time I eat there, it seems like the best meal I've ever had.  It could be that I just don't ever cook as well! It was so nice to be together and fun to see Oliver since he changes so much each time we see him! It was just what we needed!
