Fall Festival

We had a fall fun festival at our church this past weekend and the kids had a blast.  Hayrides, pumpkin decorating, lots of games and of course candy!  And good food!

This is Jack and his good buddy Noah.  He's pretty fun, and they really love getting together.  And I just think he's adorable.

Fun with Pets

Jack finished his first reading book Fun with Pets for this year a few weeks ago and is now on his second named Tiptoes.  He really enjoys reading so far, so I'm glad of that.

New opportunities

We had a couple of fun different things to do the last couple of days.  I signed Jack up for a story time and craft at the elementary school.  It meets once a month and allows Jack to be with kids his age and me...well, I get to be the helper!  The other helper sprained her ankle. Bad for her but good for me.  I miss helping at school!  So that's kind of exciting.

And then Matt was put on a rotation for speaking at a senior living home, and today was our first time.  The kids got up and sang and said verses, and Matt gave a short talk.  We just had so much fun meeting the people there.  It was a blessing!

We are at home and church mostly, so we welcomed the chance to get out and meet people and hopefully be a blessing.  They sure were to us.

Fall is here

I love trees!  I used to love the tree in the field by Berean.  God gave me 6 maples at our church here in Fairmont and look how beautiful they are!  I'm thinking fall finally made it to southern Minnesota.  The temperatures have been cold so it actually feels more like winter but I'm happy we still have colors going on.  My favorite thing to do here is to drive around and look at the farms.  It's very beautiful especially with all of the harvesting going on.  Not happy that we had flurries the other day but I'm just trying to ignore that!

A Day at the Farm

How fun and educational it's been to be here in farm country.  We love the farms, and it's so nice for us city folk to learn about them firsthand since we have a few farmers in our church.  This is Farmer Aldo Senne harvesting his corn.  It was a blast!

Grandma and Grandpa

Grandpa and Grandpa came this past weekend and spoiled us.  It was so fun to see them and spend a little time with them!  Here are some of the kids spoils.  Not pictured are more toys and Halloween candy!  They also brought
some potato soup that we will be eating for a while!  Yum!  Perfect for fall.  Grandma even raked leaves with them to fill the pumpkin bags.

Ava funny

Ava fell and hit her head and cried and cried.  A little later, she almost slipped down the stairs and said "Whoa!  I no want bump my head. Cwying no fun. Happy is fun."  I agree!

Best family ever!

We had such a wonderful time with family this past weekend and are looking forward to more this next weekend.  Mom and Dad came and brought gifts from everyone.  It was like Christmas!  My favorite was a Chick-Fil-A sandwich!  Since we couldn't get up there for the grand opening, it helped to have one brought down.  Still delicious even after the drive down!  Dad made his famous chili, and we made caramel apples.  Two fall traditions checked off the list.  Thanks, everyone, for making our weekend so special!

Music Class

We love the music curriculum that we use - Praise Hymn.  It ties in classical music and folk songs and Christian songs.  I love the variety, and the kids love the songs and activities.  So they were having fun marching around and learning about rhythm yesterday.

Fall and Friends

We had a great time this past weekend with one of our missionary families and personal friends, the Flincks.  We were able to go to the homecoming football game for Fairmont High on Friday night.  It was a blast even in the rain.  Loved hearing the band especially since Ava's Sunday school teacher Julia ("J'ia") plays trumpet in it. It was so much fun cheering with her family and the Flincks.  There were quite a few of us!  Go Cardinals!

Then Saturday we went to Center Creek Orchards.  Tons for the kids to do and definitely some crispy weather!  The Flincks were a blessing to us personally and also to our church with a great service on Sunday!  The kids did not want to leave which is the reason for some frowns in this picture.
